An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma (NQF 6) or higher) Accounting or related field of study; A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in an accounting environment; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.
Willingness to work overtime and willingness to travel.
Verification and authorisation of payment requisitions for payments in line with policies and procedures. Verification and authorisation of journals. Maintenance of suspense accounts and financial report inputs; Provide staff with relevant legislation, policy and general information on request. Provide stakeholders with payment detail and guidance. Liaising with Nedbank and PT on cash management matters. Management of petty cash processes within banking. Management of the cashier system and user administrator. Manage the safekeeping of cash. Reviewing of ageing of debtor and/or creditor accounts. General supervision of employees including managing performance, conduct and discipline . Providing inputs to Interim Financial Statements/Annual Financial Statements. Ensure effective implementation and monitoring of financial policies and guidelines and assist in formulation thereof. Co-ordination and preparation of submissions/presentations to management
Knowledge of financial systems; Relevant legislation and procedures regarding personnel; Departmental practices.
Management; Communication (written and verbal); Interpersonal; Planning; Organising skills; Proven computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and Power Point). Ability to analyse and interpret data. Operational knowledge of financial systems. Ability to work under pressure and independently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to interpret and apply policy, Problem solving, Numeracy skills, Computer literacy, Interpret financial reports . Ability to convert text data into excel
