An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree or higher qualification) Accounting Sciences; A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Financial Accounting; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.
Willingness to work overtime and willingness to travel.
Report on expenditure vs budget to management and external stakeholders. Maintain a database of applications forms received, processed, approved/rejected for payments. Ensure completeness and timeous approval payment requisitions for payment on payment systems in line with policies and procedures. Reporting on advances, interdepartmental claims, accounts payable accounts and T&S claims. Authorising of claims, payments on financial systems, corrective journals. Maintenance of suspense accounts and financial report inputs;. Provide staff with relevant legislation, policy and general information on request. Provide stakeholders with payment detail and guidance. Manage enquiries from general public. Management of suspense accounts and financial reports. Reviewing of ageing of debtor and/or creditor accounts. General supervision of employees including managing performance, conduct and discipline. Providing inputs to Interim Financial Statements/Annual Financial Statements. Ensure effective implementation and monitoring of financial policies and guidelines and assist in formulation thereof. Co-ordination and preparation of submissions/presentations to management .
Knowledge of the financial policies and regulations. Knowledge of financial processes. Ability to analyse and interpret data. Operational knowledge of financial systems e.g. BAS, LOGIS, PERSAL etc. Good computer skills in Excel Good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. Ability to work under pressure and independently in a fast-paced environment. Good accounting, analytical and communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to interpret and apply policy, Problem solving, Numeracy skills, Computer literacy, Interpret financial reports. Ability to convert text data into excel.
