Grade 1: R 827 211 - R 907 392; Grade 2: R 961 806 - R 1 065 894; Grade 3: R1 113 600 - R1 233 585 per annum, All-inclusive package to be structured in accordance with the set rules.
Master's degree in Psychology. Registration and proof of current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Psychologist (Independent Practice).
An education qualification and education experience will serve as a recommendation.
As a member of a transversal team, the incumbent will function as part of the District-Based Support Team, with the responsibility of providing transversal outreach services to Special Care Centres (SCCs) and schools that include Learners with Profound Intellectual Disability (LPID) and eventually public ordinary schools and early childhood centres within the province. The incumbent’s duties will include: - Planning, provision and supervision of a range of direct and indirect education and therapeutic support services including as outlined in the LSPID Conditional Grant Framework and Practice Note; - Using official data management system (SA-SAMS), tools and web-based platforms to manage, track and capture services; - Provision of therapeutic and psychosocial intervention to learners; - Psycho-educational assessment and appropriate placement of LSPID; - Monitoring and reporting on learners progress; - Implement, manage and supervise curriculum delivery and reporting in learning sites - Assist with training and capacity building on the Learning Programme (LP) for Learners with Profound Intellectual Disability (LPID), adapted curricula, etc; - Reporting and accounting on services rendered; - Monitoring and reporting on the learners’ progress; and - Reporting and accounting on services rendered.
Knowledge and understanding of education legislation and policies especially Inclusive Education (White Paper 6, SIAS etc). In depth knowledge and understanding of assessment and intervention aimed at children with physical and intellectual disabilities. Experience in working as part of a team and collaborating with stakeholders. Be able to take initiative, work under pressure and problem-solve if and when necessary.
Advanced computer skills, including the use of SharePoint and the South African School Administration System (SA SAMS)
