Appropriate three (3) year qualification (REQV 13). Nine(9) years experience of which 4 years must be teaching within a basic education environment and 5 years management experience within a school (Post level 4) or educational district office (Post level 5). Registration with SACE. A valid driver’s license.
Provide developmental support to Public Ordinary-, Public Special Schools and hostels to ensure effective and efficient school management and governance within the District. Oversee that all school management and governance policies, prescripts, norms and standards are implemented effective and efficiently. Manage district infrastructure planning and delivery in conjunction with the Chief Directorate Infrastructure. Oversee the effective and efficient management of Learner Transport Schemes within the district. Oversee the roll-out of the National School Nutrition Programme. Oversee the Safe Schools programme to ensure Safety measures are in place to protect the safety of teachers and learners within public schools. Oversee the implementation of School Enrichment Programmes. Ensure the implementation and dissemination of information, facilitate ICT services and prepare, implement and monitor the district business planning processes. This includes overseeing the facilitation and coordination of all district strategic annual business processes. Oversee the facilitation, coordination and monitoring of the effective implementation of Knowledge and Information Management Systems in collaboration with the Directorate Information and Knowledge Management (HO). Coordinate the interface between District Director and internal/external stakeholders (including PAIA). Manage the integrated planning processes with other government departments, local government, municipalities, local business and NGO’s within the district. Oversee and monitor the quality of institutional knowledge and information generated. Oversee ICT services for the District Office. Responsible to provide secretarial support at District Management Meetings. Render a people management service for the district. Oversee the development and management of the Work Skills Plan (WSP) and Professional Development Plans. Ensure the implementation of staff performance management systems. Coordinate the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Oversee processes to ensure that sound relationships exist between the employer and employee in the District (Employee Relations). Facilitate the collation of the District People Management Plan. Coordinate the placement of interns within the district. Ensure the coordination the National Teacher Awards.
Extensive knowledge of applicable education policies and procedures. Public Service procedures. Knowledge of people management processes (Labour relations, Financial Management and Performance Management processes). Project Planning.
