Assist with the provision of civil engineering inputs and guidance which include all aspects of innovative and complex engineering applications for the development of infrastructure strategies, policies, systems, norms, standards aligned to the Provincial Infrastructure Delivery Management System (IDMS).

Candidate Engineer: R 721 476- R 765 747 per annum; Engineer (Production) Grade A: R 833 499- R 894 042 per annum; Engineer (Production) Grade B: R 939 024- R 1 011 597 per annum; Engineer (Production) Grade C: R 1 068 342-R 1 254 282 per annum. Salary depending on years of experience after registration as a professional with the professional body.
Degree in Engineering; Registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA; Three years experience post qualification; Valid Drivers Licence; Computer literate.
Assist to develop and maintain functional and technical norms and standards from an engineering perspective. Perform condition assessments and credibility of technical information. Adhere to environmental and occupational health & safety aspects. Investigate proposals for innovative service delivery mechanisms and undertake feasibility studies. Compile briefing documentation and specifications from an engineering perspective. Assist to prepare the User Asset Management Plan. Make inputs to the Construction Procurement Strategy and the Infrastructure Programme Management Plan. Conduct post project and post occupancy evaluations. Candidates must be able to undertake research related to innovative and sustainable infrastructure development and be able to plan and implement projects related to this.
Relevant experience: Three years post qualification and relevant experience working on Infrastructure Projects from inception to completion. Candidate must be able to work independently and within a team. Need a good understanding of infrastructure planning and systems that can contribute towards the timeous development of education infrastructure. Need a good understanding of and experience in project management.
Candidates must have the ability to prepare reports and draft submissions. Contribute towards the development of strategies and systems for the planning and implementation of education infrastructure. Plan and manage the implementation of infrastructure projects.
