To ensure on-going curriculum development and to enhance quality teaching and learning practices by undertaking research, liaising with the Department of Basic Education and stakeholders, providing systemic support to subject advisers and teachers, to develop and implement the curriculum in accordance with provincial and national policy frameworks. Manage special projects in the FET Band. Stakeholder engagement and collaboration.

per annum. All-inclusive package to be structured in accordance with the set rules.
A basic 3-year degree (REQV 13) or an equivalent qualification. At least 8 years appropriate experience in education. A valid drivers license. High level of proficiency in at least TWO of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Registration with SACE as a professional educator. Recommendations: An appropriate post graduate qualification will be an advantage. A formal qualification in Project Management. Proven success in collaboration with stakeholders and management of special projects.
To ensure ongoing curriculum development and support at a systemic level. To enhance quality teaching and learning practices by undertaking research. To liaise with the DBE and stakeholders. To provide systemic support to subject advisers and teachers. To develop and implement the curriculum in accordance with provincial and national frameworks. To plan and implement the 3-streams, Focus schools and the MST Strategy in the WCED. To manage and implement the MST Conditional Grant Projects. Develop, coordinate and conduct professional development programmes for teachers based on identified needs. Coordinate, support and report regularly on the state of the projects. Collate and compile reports to provide feedback to management and stakeholders. To facilitate and provide inputs into the development of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) and National Curriculum Statement (NCS). To support curriculum implementation in line with the NCF, NCS within FET and relevant subjects in the Senior Phase. Provide support and guidance with regard to the implementation of MST / Focus Schools / Three Streams. Monitoring, evaluation and reporting on the implementation of special projects. People Management: Provide strategic direction to and manage policy issues with regard to the functions of the component. Administrative duties such as compiling reports, respond to correspondence, write curriculum minutes and submissions, write tender specifications and manage procurement and supply chain processes.
Thorough knowledge of: Relevant policies, rules and regulations of the National Department of Basic Education and the WCED. Curriculum and assessment concepts, theory and principles. WCED's e-Education vision. Competencies and skills to develop, interpret and analyse curriculum and assessment matters. Knowledge of the PFMA and DoRA.
Above-average verbal and non-verbal communication. Analytical and report writing. Facilitation and presentation. Advanced computer literacy. Project management. Planning and organising. Monitoring and evaluation. Financial planning and management.
